FAQ

What type of work do you do?

We do all types of work - from painting and decorating to alterations and conversions. Have a look at our Services page for a list of the most common types of work we do. In any event, give us a call with your query. In the unlikely event that we are unable to help you, we can point you in the right direction.

How much do you charge?

We usually charge an hourly rate from £15.00 to £17.50 depending on the type of work. For example, some work requires a greater degree of skill or specialised knowledge. We can also provide a price for a specific job, which includes labour and materials.

Can I have a FREE Estimate - without any obligation?

Of course you can! However, we would go further and request that you get at least 2 other estimates from alternative firms.

What happens if you go over your estimate?

Well, we always try our best to ensure that this doesn't happen. However, there are occassions when one job turns into two or three jobs. For example, while stripping wallpaper, you might need to replaster parts of a wall in order to finish the original job. It is important to remember that an estimate is just that - an estimate of how long or how much a job might cost. To reassure you, if, at any point, a job looks likely to exceed the estimate, we will inform you in plenty of time - so that you can make an informed decision.

How soon can you start work?

Depending on our work schedule, we can usually start work within 3-4 weeks. However, some jobs are weather dependant and this will also need to be considered. We shall always call the night before any new job just to confirm it is still convenient for you.

Do I have to remove any rubbish or debris myself or pay any extra for you to remove it?

Generally, on small to medium jobs we will remove all rubbish or debris at no extra cost. However, on larger jobs, or if there is a lot of building rubble, we recommend using a skip. This is due to the change in the law on household and building rubbish disposal. There is now a council tip charge of approx £80.00 per load and there will also be a labour charge for this service - that is, if we remove the rubbish for you. If you are thinking of ordering a skip, then we can order you a skip and arrange the permit, at the start of your job.
